The ME List
Aug. 24th, 2008 05:46 pmI'm a list maker, I've embraced this about myself. I like the organization implied by the making of a list despite the fact that I'm really not that organized at all. I like the vision required to make a list. Except my vision isn't really that far reaching, not only do I not know where I'm going I don't know where I want to go.
On my birthday I made a list of things I wanted to do before I turned thirty and to date I've done exactly none of them. Or if I have it wasn't because of the list and frankly dyeing my brown hair a slightly different shade of brown isn't what I had in mind when I stuck it on the list. And 65 pounds is great but not quite a hundred.
So I thought okay maybe I need encouragement, I need people asking: 'Hey have you taken that art class yet?' Or telling me they know a guy with a zamboni or a tattoo artist with a slow hand (which is only funny if you know that the guy who gave me my first tattoo was named 'Slowhand'). I need to decided to date again, and find someone worth kissing in the rain. And then I need it to actually rain.
So here is my list. It's frivolous (mostly) and things I've always wanted to do, or thought I should do. It probably says something about Me, Myself and I but I'm not feeling reflective. I'm starting with pi, what do you think is 3.141592654 impressive enough? Cause to date that's all the digits of pi my calculator spits out and thus all I know...
Read the whole bible
Go white water rafting
Learn a new language
Write something I don't hate
Learn about kabbalah
Drive a zambonie
Create an elaborate, unnecessarily detailed wiki about something fictional
Memorize enough digits of pi to be impressive
Solve a New York Times crossword puzzle
Send a message in a bottle.
Plant a tree
Attend a concert
Take an art class
Take (and hopefully pass) the PE exam
Lose 100 pounds
Stay up all night long just to watch the sun rise
Adopt an accent for an entire day
Get the tattoo I've been talking about for years
Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge… and inevitably walk back
Dye my hair
Finish Wuthering Heights
Write a letter to a friend
Design my own t-shirt
See the Nutcracker on stage
Fire a weapon
Kiss in the rain
Go on a road trip with no destination planned
Get on the National Marrow Donor list
Take pictures in a photo booth
Bake a pie from scratch
