1. How did you get into lj RP in the first place?

So, I didn't have a computer with internet until I was in college. Seem's insane now, but I'd never needed it - the library had encyclopedia's and reference materials and a computerized catalog. The family home computer (which was in the livingroom) was strictly for word processing papers.

And then I was living in the dorms - with high speed ethernet - and surrounded by guys who were into online video games. I played a lot of Doom. I read a lot of fanfic, news websites, gossip rags and discovered that there was smut of all colors - not just the 1960's Harlequin Historical novels I'd inherited from my Grandma. It was a revelation.

At the time I was a fairly rabid Buffy fan - and I found this mailing list of Spike fans - oh James Marster's the things I learned from you, and because of those women. Chats and meme's became writing fic, became the creation of original characters that interacted.

And then Buffy ended, I graduated, and my life got a little out of control (which had little to do with the first and a lot to do with the second). I was severely depressed and as part of my expanding my horizons I did something that terrified me - I started prompt writing, and posting the words I'd written where other people could read them.

Somewhere in there I discovered Hearts and Minds, and after months of getting up my nerve I decided to join and see what happened. I think that was three years ago last month. I'm still completely terrified of posting the words I write, fic, pup posts, personal things- but it's been a great experience overall.

2. What is your favourite thing to cook? Conversely, what are you best at? What have you never mastered?

My favorite thing to cook is lasagna, I make the sauce - it takes all day, I grate and mix the cheeses and spices, I do the layering. I love every messy second.

I am best at, I dunno... I make a mean chili. I tend to cook for my own tatses and am always shocked when people like my food.

I can't fry an egg to save my life.

3. You can only listen to three cds from now to FOREVER. What will they be?

All three disks of Jane Austen's Persuasion. Music I can do in my head, the spoken word is my listening crack.

4. What would your dream job be?

I should say doing what I do - I really do love civil engineering even if my current job is less engineering and more management. But honestly... pilot. I wanted to fly as a child, when everyone else wanted to be ballerinas and firemen. I actually got accepted into the Air Force academy (in engineering) - but my eyesight (damn my father's genes) wasn't good enough for me to be accepted into the flight program.

5. You can spend a week in any one fictional world. Which one and why?

The world of Douglas Adams - I want a babel fish - and I want to have dinner at the restaurant at the end of the universe and I'd really really enjoy a pot of petunias.



1. Out of all the characters you've rp'ed, who's been your favourite?

Ron has a permanent place in my heart as he was my first. But my favorite? Sam Carter.

2. What's your favourite film of all time?

Swing Time, Fred and Ginger pretending not to like each other.

3. Did you always want to follow the career path you did?

I wanted to be a pilot, but am (or was before my surgery) blind as a bat. After that was decidedly in the not going to happen category... yeah I picked it and I went with it. Even though as a child I always claimed I'd never be an engineer cause my dad was one.

4. Do you still play musical instruments?

Yup, not as often as I should but I have a cello and a keyboard that I play on occasion. The keyboard more as I use it to help me learn vocal selections.

5. Do you have any weird ships in your fandoms?

I'm such a boring shipper - I'm scary conventional. That said, I can be persuaded, if the setting is right - to just about any ship. The weirdest, would probably have to be River/Simon, if only because of their relationship - but in a way I have always believed neither could have a relationship with anyone else because they had each other.

People ask me that all the time... I don't know. I always feel like I'm a one game kind of person. Maybe. There are a couple games that I've said I'd go to if I decided to branch out but I like my comfortable little corner.

My chili is fab - tho very spicy.

I have a hard time listening to canned music, particularly in the car. I lose focus on everything else.

Considered it, it's an investment that most people don't have the time or money to invest in without help.
