1. When I started shipping them: Probably from the minute she checked in at Farpoint, you already knew they had history - knew from Wesley that he'd brought her husbands body home.. it was intriguing and then she got all weird and breathless which made it seem like more than just a casual history.

2. What I think their challenge is: Too much history. Jack. Hard thing to do, get together with a friends missus, your husbands bestie/person semi responsible for his death.

3. What makes me happy about them: I like the way they talk to each other, the sort of easy camaraderie they seemed to fall into, having breakfast etc. and that she'll tell him off.

4. What makes me sad about them: There are so many things they can't/don't say to each other - when they were mind linked you got a little bit of a view into that - their friendship is so tentative in a way and they just don't ever really get to a point where they can talk about everything - and I'm not sure they're capable of getting there.

5. What moment I wish had never happened: I still hate the view into the future where they were exes... because you can just imagine Picard never going past friendship because he thinks it will fail.

6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: If not for canon making him off limits I'd be down with Riker/Crusher. Picard I fear is doomed to aloneness - I like no one else for him.

7. My happily ever after for them: You'd think marriage etc but you know.. I'd like to think they could be 100 years old and still having breakfast - together/not together.. whatever. But still friends.

1. When I started shipping them: The flashback - to how they first met. When none of them knew her name so he called her baby girl and then got all flustered when she called him on it before saying she liked it.

2. What I think their challenge is: On the show... the social reality that she is far to heavy (and geeky) to be considered an appropriate match for him. In character, the fact that Penelope for all her bravado and awareness of self doesn't think she can pull a guy like him.

3. What makes me happy about them: Their banter. On a show that is more often than not dark and hard to stomach they are the character equivalent of all the bright things she keeps in her office.

4. What makes me sad about them: I don't believe it will ever happen, or that they would be nearly so cool if it did.

5. What moment I wish had never happened: Him implying that a hot guy asking her out was weird and making her huffy and agree to go out with hottie mcstalkerton.

6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Kevin and some as yet unmet woman from wherever. Not the scary dead brother lady please no.

7. My happily ever after for them: West Coast. Make him head of his own team, BAU CA start up another office - send her along.
