Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

nozenfordaddyDid you know that every three minutes, another woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer? Unfortunately, I know first hand how devastating and prevalent this horrible disease has become in our country. I lost my grandma in 1989, after a long, difficult battle to cancer - it wasn't the first time she'd had it.
My mom and her younger sister are participating in the Avon Walk in SF this July - they have pledged to raise money as part of their participation in the walk and I have volunteered to help. Please if you have the means - and inclination - consider donating to this cause. My mom's fund-raising page is here.
Your contribution will help to support medical research into the possible causes of and cure for breast cancer, education and early detection programs, and clinical care and support services for women with breast cancer in communities across the country. There is a special focus on helping medically under served women, the poor, minorities, the elderly, or those with inadequate health insurance.
Much of the money granted by the Foundation goes back to the communities where it was raised, and thousands of people will be participating in the 39 mile, two day trek in addition to my family members.
Obviously I don't want anyone to feel like they have to donate, all I ask is that you consider it.
