Name: Stanoczk (pronounced st’n-OSH)

Character Fandom: Jurisdiction

Canonical Point of Entry: During ‘The Devil and Deep Space’ just after being told that his cousin Andrej had been gravely injured.

Physical Description: Stanoczk has been accused of looking a good deal like his cousin, it is true that the resemblance is there (he is five foot eight, blond and brown-eyed, solidly built) but it is not such that anyone would mistake them for the other especially when coupled with the difference in personality and dress.

Stanoczk has a very deep speaking voice. But he does not sing, so don't ask.

Background: Stanoczk is a slave of the Malcontent; uniquely qualified to obtain information about all subjects, legal or illegal and any person at anytime. The Malcontent has been the secret service of the Dolgorukij Combine for seven hundred years (or more) and as such their agents (and thus Stanoczk) are all capable fighters, discrete (when need be) and not unwilling to ignore rules to obtain their point.

Stanoczk is a Reconciler, meaning that he is responsible for several Malcontent agents he directs including their health, welfare, and assignments. His position as a reconciler requires him to display a high degree of empathy and sensitivity to the suffering of others and is honor-bound by his duty to the Saint to offer reconciliation to any soul in pain.

Stanoczk elected to join the service of the Malcontent as a young man rather than live a lie, trying not to bring shame on his family with desires that did not conform to the just dictates of the Holy Mother. He could be seen as a sad or tragic figure, having been condemned to life as a slave of the Malcontent simply because he was not like other men; but Stanoczk doesn't see himself as particularly tragic. In fact it may be that the life of a Malcontent suits him rather more than any other life would have.

Malcontents are considered to have severed every connection between them and the rest of the world; they have no legal rights of kinship or inheritance of any sort. In private Stanoczk is wont to fall back on old familial ties and pet names with his third cousin twice removed Andrej who was a friend of his childhood. Only Andrej still calls him by the fond childhood nickname that not even the Malcontent could separate him from. Stanoczk may be dead to his family but Stoshi remains.

Personality: Stanoczk is by design, rather than nature, a bit of a cynic, it is a self-defense mechanism he has developed to hide his sentimental nature. He is utterly dedicated to his role as a Malcontent, the business of the Saint suiting his rather filthy nature like a well worn outer garment.

He has a strong sense of the ridiculous but lacks any particular sense of moral outrage, whether this is a gift of nature or of the Malcontent is not known.

Stanoczk, it may be said, likes all things in excess. He rather likes beer and sex (he prefers men, but as a reconciler has often been called on to ‘counsel’ both sexes), neither of which are necessarily beyond his reach as a Malcontent. He will scoff at anything processed to make it better for you. He prefers things as the Holy Mother made them, complete with their fat, sugar, alcohol or caffeine content, why bother else.

His clothes are rich in texture and color, a feast to the eye as well as to the touch, from the woven grass footwear he prefers to the fine linen undergarments and the red halter of the Saint round his throat.

If he had a private life or leisure activities (which strictly speaking he does not) he would probably go somewhere full of people, such as the batting cages (where he could indulge in a bit of sport) or to the ballet (because… boys in tights).
