Name: Joseph Anthony Morelli (alias: Officer Hottie)

Character Fandom: Stephanie Plum Series

Canonical Point of Entry: After ‘Lean Mean Thirteen’

Distinguishing Characteristics: Morelli is six feet of sleek, slim hipped muscle with dark hair, molten chocolate eyes and a smile that makes him look ten years younger. He has a scar through one eyebrow from a youthful brawl, an eagle tattoo on his chest and rock hard buns.

Background: Joseph Morelli is the 34 year-old youngest son of Rocco and Angie, and grew up in, lives in and will probably die in the Chambersburg neighborhood (alias: the ‘Burg’) of Trenton, New Jersey. After graduating from High School, and at the ‘suggestion’ of a juvenile court judge Morelli spent four years in the Navy.

After returning home, and while nursing a broken leg after being 'accidentally' hit by the Plum family Buick, and despite minor run-ins with the law related to intoxication/fighting and writing on bathroom walls in his youth, he was accepted into the police academy. He worked his way up from patrol, to vice and finally to detective in the crimes against persons (alias: homicide) division with only a few bumps and bruises and one stint as a wanted fugitive along the way.

A bit of a player in his youth he has had an ‘on again’, ‘off again’, ‘why do I do this to myself’ relationship with Stephanie Plum (alias: The Bombshell Bounty Hunter) since he was eight years old and talked her into the garage to play choo choo. He loves her, hates her job, is amused by her crazy family and stocks creamy peanut butter and birthday cake for those times when they co-habitate.

Personality: Joe was a wise-ass kid and a wild teen more than living up to expectations as a Morelli man with a reputation for hard living and a liking for fast cars and faster women. The Navy straightened him out, mostly, and he started being his own man instead of trying to be a Morelli man.

His own man is a solid, dependable, good guy with a wicked sense of humor, and a racy sense of fun toeing that line between the wild youth he was and the sinful man he’s become.
