Do I Look Like I Want to Work Here?

nozenfordaddyYesterday in a fit of crazy I decided I was going to hit the MacDonald's drive-thru and get myself a. chicken tenders and b. hot mustard. I was craving MickeyD's hot mustard.. I have no good reason for this other than all I'd eaten by 4pm was a grapefruit.
At the pay window I had the pleasure of having the following conversation with the skinny screamingly gay man who took my money:
Guy: Do you want to work here?
Me: O.o Uh.. no?
Guy: Why not?
Me: I already have a job. *subtext, can I have my change now?*
Guy: Yeah? Where do you work?
Me: I'm an engineer in Rancho.
Guy: You've graduated? *looks surprised, do I look young enough to be in college still? granted my hair was in pigtails but still*
Me: Yeah.
Guy: I got to Sac State, did you go there?
Me: I went to Davis.
Guy: That's a beter school.
Me: I don't know, Sac is a pretty good school. My cousin graduated form there.
Guy: Yeah, well... if you're ever looking for a job. *finally give me my change*
My mom said MacDonald's is apparently hiring like 50k people and maybe they get a referal bonus or something but... was the drive-thru the time and place to ask a stranger if they want a job?
